About us.
My name is Lane Stafford. I am a fourth generation native Texan, physician and father of 3, juggling life with my wife Whitney, who also works in healthcare. My first memory of BBQ involves slices of brisket from a legendary restaurant called Black’s BBQ in Lockhart, Texas. My father and I ate those perfectly smokey tender slices off the console of a 1987 diesel Suburban on our way to fish the Texas gulf coast, and 30 years later I’m still chasing that ‘perfect slice’!
I moved to Lexington for residency training in 2010 around the time I bought my first small smoker, and since then have taken great joy in honing my craft so that I can bring my best version of that smokey magic to friends and family in my new Kentucky home. We are a small operation but have upgraded a great deal since that first small smoker, now with capacity to cook for groups as large as 300. Everything we cook is slow-smoked using only locally sourced Kentucky oak for… as long as it takes. Our goal is to bring you the best Central Texas style BBQ in Kentucky to share with your family and friends.
